Peppy Lou's Story

Peppy Lou here. I came into care with Bella Ann when our person had to go into memory care. We are about 10 years old and have lived our whole life with her. We don’t understand loosing our home, our person, then our substitute person and now are in a new home. We need to stay together. We are all each of us has ever known. There were 2 cats in our home and now we’ve lost them also.

Recently at a vet appointment they tried to separate us. We cried, howled, barked and made such a ruckus that they put us together in the same kennel and then we were fine. We only know each other as we haven’t been around other dogs much. We would sometimes see another dog on our daily walks; but we never interacted with them. It was always just us and our person.

I do my business outside and easily use the doggy door. I weigh about 9 lbs. and right now I’m on a special diet for my liver. Sometimes I get a little protective of my food if another dog is getting too close. I sleep through the night, am crate / x-pen trained, and ride calmly in the car, I am getting along with the other little fosters in the home. I’m a little skittish about being picked up but I like to jump up in your lap or lay on the couch beside you. I keep track of Bella Ann when we are outside playing with the other dogs and she often just follows me around the yard. Could we be together in your home?
