Peppercorn is in Redmond!'s Story
Meet Pepper, a resilient, affectionate girl whose journey has taken her from a Texas porch to the Pacific Northwest — and now she’s ready for the forever home she truly deserves.

Pepper’s story began when a kind stranger found her curled up on his front porch at just six months old. Wanting the very best for her, he drove her all the way to Oregon, where she spent a few months in foster care. Unfortunately, during that time she was attacked by two dogs while tethered, and it left her feeling unsure around unfamiliar dogs and contributed to some rough-around-the-edges manners.

But Pepper is nothing if not determined. After moving to the Seattle area, she completed a board and train program, and she’s made incredible progress. She’s smart, eager to please, and with a bit more training she could easily become the best behaved kid on the block.

Pepper thrives in a predictable, peaceful environment, so she’s looking for a home outside the city with a secure fenced yard where she can relax, explore, and feel safe. She’s currently being fostered in the suburbs with an elderly chihuahua. She respectfully keeps her distance — even though she’d love to play. She often uses his snarling snaps to mean play and she dodges and teases him.

She’d enjoy having a large, balanced, playful dog brother or a friend to play with sometimes. She loves canine companionship but does not like to be overwhelmed. She is not a throw into a dog park and let all the dogs chase her kind of a gal. Her favorite game is to chase and be chased, preferably by no more than 2 dogs:)

Pepper would be happy to have a small circle of dog friends her size or larger, especially those who are easygoing and playful. She doesn't realize her size so in play, she may use her paws which can be too rough for little dogs.

And then there’s one of her favorite hobbies: car rides. She hops into the passenger seat, settles in, sitting upright and staring straight out the windshield just like a person. Riding shotgun isn’t just an activity for her — it’s a lifestyle.

Through everything, Pepper has remained loving, loyal, and full of heart. She’s the kind of dog who bonds deeply, tries hard, and wants nothing more than a safe place, steady routines, and people who appreciate her for who she is.
If you’re looking for a devoted companion with a remarkable story and an even more remarkable heart, Pepper is ready to meet you.

Pepper is about 2.5 years old and weighs 50 lbs.

Pepper's adoption fee is $550. She is vetted and microchipped and has gone through training.

Please contact her foster mom, Karin at karinkeith@hotmail.com for more details.
