PEPPER's Story

I am a sweet girl and I love to play fetch! I have not always gotten along with other pets (mostly cats, but I have been dog selective) in the past, so please consider that if you have other pets, I'll definitely need slow, monitored introductions to other pets in a new home - and those introductions will take time. But I'm definitely a people pleaser and I will make you smile! My adoption fee has been fully sponsored. Adopt me and pay $0.00!!! Notes from Pepper's friends & caretakers: She is a very strong, big girl! She requires a bit of muscle on leash, but she loves walking with you outside, taking in the sights and smells. She likes getting pets from strangers and gets a little spooked by loud sounds. She will stand watch if she sees another big dog nearby. She’s high energy but will sit for treats. Tennis balls are a big hit! She wanted to say hi to everyone and make people friends. Pepper is the absolute sweetest ...she’s big and full of love. She’s very excited for everything, and always happy to see everyone! Despite her age, she's very playful, and enjoys a decently long walk. I really enjoyed my day out with her. She would be your absolute best friend. Pepper is so sweet! She gave me a friendly greeting and hopped into my car without hesitation. She was calm and well behaved on the ride, and likewise on our hike as well. She passed walkers, runners, bikers and other dogs without issue, and was friendly toward people along the way who wanted to meet her. Very mellow, but definitely up for an adventure! We first explored Homestead Park, and then went down to Chapel Hill Forest, enjoying a long hike through the woods. Pepper very much enjoyed her time both on the trail and in the car! She was very calm, with a soothing presence, but also had plenty of energy for a long walk. Pepper was a bundle of joy! She was friendly and welcoming right away, with no fear. She walked amazing on a trail with other people around. She really is the sweetest dog and was absolutely perfect! We took Pepper to a nice trail for a little hike and then took her home to relax and play! Favorite thing: Her demeanor, she is super sweet and loves giving kisses! Pepper is a gem. I have taken a few dogs for sleepovers and she has been the best. Chilled, loving, gentle and house trained. Walks well. She also does not bark unnecessarily. Very quiet. She was VERY loving and just cuddled next to you. Very easy to have around the house. A real gem. Was great in the car, she pulled a little outside so she definitely requires some muscle haha. She was very treat motivated and she would eat treats in seconds. She behaved very well, enjoyed our walk to the trail. She is definitely home dog and does well with new people. We fostered pepper for 4 days and she is the best dog I have ever seen. She loves playing fetch and treats herself with long naps frequently during the day. She eats anything and is not selective to any dog food. Very well trained, she would not touch any house objects besides her toys, never barked, and knew where her bed was. She would give the sweetest look when we would say no to sth she is the cutest dog in the world. In the mornings she never woke us up to go potty, but patiently waited till we got up. Although she is very food motivated and craves pretty much anything, she never jumped on a table or reached for a bite that was in her reach. She did amazing in the car and was also very calm when left at home alone for 4 hours while we were running errands. Never grabbed a shoe, a tree ornament or anything. We had a few people over for Thanksgiving and she did amazing with all of them happily getting more than 10 pets form everyone. She is very cuddly and loves touching you while she sleeps. She would frequently come crawl next to me. She is the perfect home dog and whoever gets her is more lucky than winning the JackPot. She knows so many commands and is very obedient that we felt connected very fast. Her cute tail also never stops wiggling. She is truly a gem.
