Pepper's Story

Pepper’s world changed overnight when she was one of 25 dogs confiscated from a difficult situation. Shortly after arriving into rescue, we learned she was pregnant (!), and just one week later, she gave birth to one healthy baby boy named Dash.
Pepper has been a wonderful mama, and now that Dash is old enough to be on his own, it is finally Pepper’s turn to find the loving forever home she deserves. (She will be ready to go home after her pending spay surgery).
Pepper is a gentle, sweet girl who can be a little shy with new people at first, but once she feels comfortable, her loving personality shines through. She enjoys cuddling with her people but is not overly clingy. She is perfectly happy relaxing in her dog bed, laying on the deck in the sun, or curling up on the couch nearby.
She is generally very quiet and only barks to let you know she is ready to come back inside. Pepper is mostly potty trained and will go to the door or seek you out when she needs to go outside, though she is still working on holding it consistently.
Pepper gets along wonderfully with other dogs and cats. She enjoys toys, happily chews appropriate items, and rides calmly and quietly in the car. She does not yet know basic commands, and we are just beginning to work on leash training and confidence building, but she is making progress every day.
After all she has been through, Pepper deserves a calm and patient home where she can continue learning what it means to feel safe, loved, and cherished.
