Meet Pepper
Please read entire description. Peppers's adoption fee is $150. If you are interested in adopting her, please complete an adoption application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting.
Pepper was rescued from a home where she was left abandoned with her long-time canine brother. Animal Control was notified when she was spotted by neighbors hanging out the window next to an air conditioner crying for help. They were left in filth with no food and water. There was no electricity or running water in the house. They hadn't been groomed in what appears to be years. Despite this, they are both very sweet, loving, and forgiving.
Pepper is a Schnzauzer / Poodle mix from what we can guess that weighs about 15 pounds. She is 8 years old. Grooming took some time. Her matting was terrible and impeded full use of her legs and being able to use the bathroom correctly. You can see from the smile on her face, that she is ever so grateful for all those that rescued her and made her feel like a million bucks.
Pepper would do best in a home where she has a fence and someone to provide her with love, consistency, and companionship. She would likely be fine with older children and possibly cats. She does well with other dogs, but simply likes to co-exist, not necessarily play. She doesn't like when dogs are forward and get right in her face. Her friend, Oreo, is also available for adoption. They are very comfortable with each other, but aren't necessarily bonded.
