Meet Pepper
Hi there. My name is Pepper. Some of you may remember me. I came up here after Hurricane Irma to start a new life in Virginia. I really love the people here, but you can keep the snow.
Some people say I look like a little lamb, but I am actually a Yorkie-Poo. No one knows my age for sure but I might be around 9 or 10. I am a wonderful lap dog, but I can also hold my own on a long walk with my foster sister Sadie (the cute beagle in the picture). I get along with dogs, cats, and older kids. I'm looking for a home where someone is home most of the day because I don't like being alone for more than a couple of hours. I am a wonderful companion.
Now you may be asking yourself "Why hasn't Pepper been adopted if he is so great?". Of course I ask myself the same thing, but I really do know the answer. I came in with a heart murmur and the wonderful folks here at Homes Fur Hounds wanted to get me on some medication for my heart and make sure they know exactly what's going on before adopting me to a family. Turns out my heart murmur is pretty bad and I do take several medications a day. They make me feel wonderful, just like a youngster, but they tell me I may only have a couple of years left to live. Of course I'd like to prove them wrong, but even if that's the way it has to be, I will still make a great little pal for someone who wants a lap dog.
I'm no trouble, as long as you don't mind giving me a few pills every day, I don't eat much, I love going for long walks and I will show you lots of love. So if you think you are the one who can give me the kind of home I think I deserve, please contact Homes Fur Hounds at dcosby@homesfurhounds.com. You can even tell your friends you adopted a little lamb.
