Peppa's Story

Peppa came from a home where she was quite loved. She, however, was not spayed and had a litter of puppies that her owner was giving away. One of our rescue angels happened to drive by and see a sign on a fence saying Chihuahua puppies free to good home. She stopped to get more information. She found Peppa with her puppies who were only 4 weeks old! The owner was overwhelmed with too many dogs and getting citations from animal control. Our rescue angel contacted us and asked if we could help. We could not say no to this poor momma and her babies that were too young to leave her. It took some convincing but the owner surrendered Peppa and her puppies to us with the understanding that they would all be examined by our vet, vaccinated, spayed/neutered and microchipped before going to new loving homes where they would be cherished and loved as part of the family. Peppa was actually the last to be spayed because we needed to allow time for her milk to completely dry up and to allow her mammary tissue to decrease back to normal. Peppa was a fantastic momma and took great care of her babies! She has now been spayed, heartworm tested negative, vaccinated, and microchipped. She is ready to find a home where she can feel the love and happiness she deserves! Peppa does great with other dogs, ladies, and children. She takes just a little longer to come around to men but given a chance she does warm up! Peppa is between 2 and 3 years old and currently weighs about 12 pounds.
