Penny's Story

Meet Penny, a delightful teenage girl who arrived at the Bakersfield Shelter as a stray alongside her two brothers. Her two brothers left the shelter while Penny continued to wait patiently. She briefly experienced a patient foster home with dog-savvy cats before ASR intervened and brought her to San Diego.

Penny faced a challenge with a previous eye injury that resulted in the loss of one eye, but she is adapting remarkably well, learning to navigate her surroundings with newfound confidence. This energetic pup thrives in an environment with a yard and daily walks, and she gets along well with dogs of all sizes. Penny would flourish in a home with children aged 12 and up who can respect her space, as she can be a bit anxious in unfamiliar situations. A confident canine companion would be a great asset for her as she continues to grow.

Penny is in search of a patient and loving forever home-could you be the one to provide it?
