Penny's Story

Penny adult home no pets. Housebroken crate and leash trained.

We have another special big dog in rescue. Meet Penny, a 60lbs 1 yr old full blooded pittie. Why do we have a pitbull? Well let me explain. Last year we rescued a tiny 2lb dog from a dumpster. We had named her Eartha Kitt. She was in horrible condition sores and scars fleas bloated belly and emaciated. At 2lbs and what she looked like we made a guess as well as the vet had her labeled as a chihuahua mix. Her growth the first month was minimal. She only weighed about 4lbs at adoption. But as months went on and Penny got healthy she grew and grew and grew! Her family did a DNA test and she came back ? percent American pitbull terrier for five generations! Who knew? Well she had some personality challenges with not being properly socialized and didn’t like kids coming and going. A little apprehensive snapping and Penny came back to us a month ago. Since then we’ve had a professional behavioral evaluation and have worked on her exposure to the outside world with walking in public and liking multiple people and situations both with my hubby and I taking her on long walks as well as she’s had a couple weeks in foster care with a dog whisperer daddy. She adores him. He and we need another foster who can fill in the gaps with both us or him have to travel. So far it’s worked that when he’s gone we take her back but both of us will need a foster for this weekend. Now for her bio: Penny is 60lbs 1yr old and a sweet loving gal after she trusts you. She loves a home environment and she blooms. Right now she needs to be an only dog but are working on dog introductions. She was at the vet today and did so well for her exam and handling. Penny is fully vetted and on some meds for skin and yeast. She’s quiet housebroken crate and leash trained. No kids for now. Adult home. If you can foster for this coming weekend Oct 17-19 please text 7046509653. Penny is available for adoption also and there is no adoption fee. She deserves a great home. She’s a perfect gal in the right environment and super loyal. Www.peanutsplacerescue.org click application scroll down it’ll appear.
