Penny's Story

Meet Penny, a very special and sweet girl. Penny is calm, happy, and quiet; only barking when at the height of excitement. She loves nothing more than to cuddle and give affection to everyone she crosses paths with. She has quickly captured the hearts of her foster parents, and all of their extended family, friends, and neighbours.

Penny is approximately 4 1/2 years old and the shelter lists her as an Australian Shepherd mix. She has a unique look which is a bit of a mystery, suggesting multiple other breeds due to her medium height, floppy ears, stocky build, and mixture of brindle and merle coat patterns. She has the cutest polka dot socks!

While Penny has some weight to lose, we expect it to come off quickly once she is on a proper diet and going out for regular walks. She loves to go out for walks, she just needs to find her forever family who have the time and mobility to take her out for her daily exercise. Penny is otherwise in great shape with a clean bill of health at her latest appointment.

Penny gets along with all people and dogs. Her foster parents affectionately calls her the 'dog whisperer' as she has a calming presence that seems to make any dogs that cross her path feel calm and comfortable. While out walking we have seen other dogs barking in her face and she has a way of calming them and suddenly they are best friends. Penny makes her foster parents laugh every day with her head cocking when you talk to her and gentle paw waving when she wants something.

If you want a cuddly and loving girl, please consider beautiful Penny. She would be a great fit for families of any size or age group, with or without existing pets. You will not regret having this gentle soul of a dog come into your life.
