Penny's Story

Penny is an adorable and loving young adult shepherd mix. She has mastered the doggy door and loves her foster brother Rocky, 125lb shepherd, the MOST, and loves other dogs also. Penny is also good with cats.

PLEASE NOTE: Penny is mostly a normal dog... but has been classified with megaesophagus. This is a condition in which the esophagus is wider than normal, and special feeding/limited diet is required. In Penny's case she eats in a special chair called a Bailey Chair, and rests in it for 15 minutes after before letting her go to be a normal dog. One thing that is helpful... Penny is open to everything we do to help her! She's a wonderful dog, a very smart girl, and learns quickly without stubbornness. Penny is also a love, and she enjoys cuddling on laps or in arms.

For more information on her condition: http://caninemegaesophagusinfo.com/

To donate to her ongoing medical care and to purchase a Bailey chair, donations can be made through our main website: www.centralcoastspca.org
