Hi, I’m Penny! And I love warm hugs! I just caught the last freedom ride from Oklahoma for the season, and I’m hoping that I can find my family for the holidays. I’m an adorable 2-year-old 50lbs Collie lab mix. Coming from the streets, I can honestly say this in-home living is pretty nice. Warm beds, full belly. A girl could get used to this. I have been good at using the bathroom outside when I’m on schedule. I walk well on a leash. I use my inside voice, so I’d be good in an apartment setting. I’ve liked all the dogs I’ve met, but I haven’t met any cats yet. I’m easily redirected and smart, so bring on the training. I don’t jump up as much as I like to put my paws around your waist gently for hugs. Did I mention I like warm hugs? If I’m not playing or chewing on bones, I’m getting all the snuggles. I’m not a fan of going in my crate because I’d rather be with you, but if need be, I do settle down nicely in there, especially if you give me a Kong or chew to help occupy my time. So what do you say? Our application process includes landlord approval and vet checks. Please make sure all of your information is current and accurate, including a valid email address and phone numbers. Inaccuracies and/or incomplete data will delay and/or cancel your application. We strive to process all applications in a timely manner, but with the high volume of applications we are receiving, it is taking anywhere from 1-3 weeks. You may be contacted via email if there are concerns or questions. Once all of your information is reviewed and if your application is approved, you will be notified via email. Submitting an application and receiving an approval does not guarantee you will be adopting the dog you applied for. Once you move to the meet and greet process, you will be contacted by the foster family to further discuss the dog, and answer questions you may have, and if applicable, a meet and greet will be set up at our adoption center. Meet and greets are only set up with approved applicants, and we require all members in the household to be present, as well as any current dogs in the home. Meet and greets take place at our adoption center located in New Berlin. If you are proceeding with adopting a Lucky Mutt, we will require the dog to have a Martingale collar at the time of adoption, to ensure the dogs safety during the transition to a new home. <br/><br/>Current Adoption Fees Are:<br/>$425+tax for puppies to 3 years old<br/>$375+tax for ages 4-7<br/>$275+tax for ages 8 and up<br/>Bonded pairs vary<br/><br/>The adoption fee covers spay/neuter, up to date age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, general deworming, heartworm test, (if over 6 months) and a certified veterinary inspection. Please be aware, listed dog breeds are based on information provided and cannot be guaranteed. Submitting an application for a particular dog does not guarantee that you will be the applicant chosen, we receive several applications for each dog. Our adopters are picked based on the needs of the dog, and the home we feel with best fit based on your responses to our application, vet information and landlord requirements. Approved applicants not chosen for the dog you applied for, will be in active status for a period of six months. We encourage you to watch Petfinder, Facebook and our website for upcoming dogs.
