Penelope

Penelope is a 1 year old border terrier mix. She is a shy, sensitive girl that takes time to warm up to women. She is fearful of men. She came to the shelter with a right hind leg injury that has healed, but occasionally she limps when she runs quickly. Penelope loves to play ball, run in the yard with her foster family dogs, wrestle with the dogs, and chew on bones. She is fearful of walking on a leash, but believe with more training, she would benefit from the exercise. She does well with small and medium dogs and is a bit fearful of large dogs. She does well with cats. Penelope's ideal home would be female only, with experienced, compassionate women with the patience and understanding to help her work through her fears. She will take some time to adjust to a new home, but once she has bonded she is a sweet lap dog.
