Penelope's Story

Meet Penelope (aka Penny)

At just 3 years old, Penelope — lovingly called Penny — is in the prime of her life and ready to find the person she can devote herself to completely. She's what we lovingly call a “one-person dog.” When she bonds, she bonds deeply — and that loyalty runs strong.

Because of that deep attachment, Penny will do best in a calm, consistent home without a lot of people coming and going. In busy or unpredictable environments, she can start to feel protective of her person. She isn't looking for chaos — she's looking for stability, routine, and someone she can feel safe with.

Penny absolutely loves her people and is affectionate, intelligent, and eager to please. She is housebroken, crate trained, leash trained, and does wonderfully staying home alone during the day. She sleeps quietly in her crate at night, rides well in the car, and is very responsive to direction. She thrives when she knows what's expected of her.

With children, Penny is friendly but can be enthusiastic and a bit pushy due to her size, so a home with older, respectful kids or adults only would be the best fit.

When it comes to other dogs, Penny needs slow, thoughtful introductions before being considered friends. She does not appreciate pushy or overly assertive dogs in her space. With proper boundaries and respectful energy, she can coexist — but she may also truly shine as the only dog in the home where she doesn't feel the need to manage her surroundings.

The good stuff:

Spayed & up to date on vet care

House & crate trained

Deeply loyal and affectionate

Smart and obedient

Thrives with routine and clear structure

Penny's current family cares about her deeply and is willing to foster her while we search for the right match.
