Penelope's Story
Penelope is a darling 4-5 year-old Pit mix with a heart as big as her smile. This sweet girl is the perfect blend of playful energy and gentle calm. She’ll happily zoom around the yard with you, then curl up for quiet cuddles once she’s gotten her wiggles out.

Penelope is currently in a loving foster home. Here’s what her foster parents have to say about her:

“Penelope (nick name is Lady Biscuits because she looks like a little roll of biscuits haha) is the sweetest cuddliest pup we have ever had or fostered! She loves to be bundled up in a blanket right next to you or join you on a hike or brewery hang out!

She’s still learning some basic commands but seems to learn quickly when she gets some yummy bone broth or peanut butter treats! She can sit on command and is learning to sit and wait for her dinner until we give her her release word (free). She’s fully potty trained, we haven’t had a single accident! But she doesn’t seem interested in pottying on a leash so an adopter with a backyard or outdoor space would probably be ideal for her.

So far there has been zero possessiveness of anything - she eats right next to our pup, does great sharing toys (she definitely likes to destroy a good plush toy haha), and doesn’t mind sharing couch space 🙂

She gets along wonderfully with other dogs - we have an energetic pup and she’ll play with him until she gets tired and then cuddles up on the couch with us! She also has been enjoying visiting Good Dog dog park and meeting other pups (we have been keeping her on a leash at the dog park just to keep her safe since we don’t know entirely how she reacts to dogs running up to her but every time we’ve taken her on the leash she’s done great!). She also loves people and showers everyone with kisses.

While she’s been enjoying going on hikes and walks, I think if she has a backyard with some space to run around she really wouldn’t require much exercise 🙂

We’ve taken her to get coffee and to some breweries and she does great! She wants to greet anyone who walks up to her with some kisses and will sit and hang out once she knows we’ve got some treats for rewarding her for calming down 🙂

We are working on kennel training, while she will go into the kennel and stays in there, she’s still making a bit of noise once we leave the house. Turning on a movie and giving her a lick mat in the kennel seems to help a little bit with her chatter 🙂

Penelope would do great as a solo pup or as part of a pack! We haven’t seen her interact with kids or cats - my only concern with kiddos is I’m not sure if she knows how strong she is and may overwhelm a kiddo.

Whoever adopts her will be so lucky to have this little love muffin! We hope to find her the best home!
