Penelope's Story

Penelope is a 2-year-old, 45 lb pit mix with the perfect mix of playful and snuggly.

She loves to play ball, zoom around the yard, and then crash on the couch for belly rubs. This girl is very affectionate and happiest when she’s close to her people. While she does well with other dogs and cats, humans are absolutely her favorite.

Penelope would do best in a home with older children or adults, as she’s not a big fan of small kiddos. She’s active, playful, treat motivated, and loves her toys.

Now for her one “quirk” — Penelope thinks her food bowl and favorite toys are very important treasures. She prefers not to share them with other animals (can you blame her? ). Because of this, she’ll do best with supervised feeding and toy time if other pets are in the home.

She is crate trained, potty trained, and will go outside or use a puppy pad if she can’t hold it. She also has mild skin allergies that are easy to manage.

If you’re looking for a playful best friend who will chase a ball one minute and snuggle up for belly rubs the next, Penelope is your girl!

Apply to adopt Penelope here:
https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/70992/generic

*Disclaimer: Penelope is currently located in Texas and can be adopted either locally or out of state. We coordinate everything with our ground transport teams to ensure they arrive to the adopter safely and we keep the adopter in the loop every step of the way. Transport costs are included in the adoption fees. We also have our fosters video chat with potential adopters prior to adoption so that the adopter gets to see the animals and ensure it’s a fit.

Ruff Road Revival's Adoption Policy
The first step to the adoption process is filling out our adoption application online. We then do a vet check and check character reference, followed up by reaching out to the potential adopter to answer any questions they may have. If they are still interested at that point, we have the foster reach out to them so that they can get a better feel for if it is the right fit both for the adopter and for the animal. This also gives the potential adopter a chance to either set up a meet and greet with the animal if they are local or video chat with the animal to see their personality if they are out of state. If they are local, the next step would be a meet and greet and if that goes well, they would sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee and take the animal home. If they are out of state and decide to move forward with adoption, they will then sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. We will schedule the transport and send all information to the potential adopter. The animal will receive a health certificate prior to transport and the adopter will be added to a group chat during the transport process.
