He came to Animal Control as a stray. This friendly and vocal boy loves to “chat” and will happily tell you all about his day. Bronx is a smart pup who already knows how to sit and lay down for a treat, and his leash manners are improving every day. He’s eager to learn and enjoys working with people. He does have some resource guarding with food [NOTE: It reportedly happened once when he first came in. He now shares a kennel and hasn't done it since. Would use caution until we know for certain], so he’ll do best in a home where he can eat without being disturbed. Bronx has done well with other dogs and has successfully shared a kennel with a few different buddies. <br/>2Y - ~50lb<br/>Likely a Mountain/Herding Dog Breed<br/><br/><br/>WHAT THESE DOGS NEED<br/>A local foster near Willoughby, Ohio<br/>Or an adopter through Coming Back Home Rescue (Ohio). Out-of-State OK!<br/>Transport to approved homes is FREE, and we handle all coordination with our partners.<br/>---<br/><br/>FOR ADOPTERS<br/>All animals transferred from BCAC receive vaccinations and heartworm testing prior to transport.<br/>If an animal tests positive for heartworm, CBHR provides and covers the slow-kill treatment method until completion.<br/>Due to recent issues with BCAC’s contracted veterinary clinic, spay/neuter surgeries are completed post-transport through Coming Back Home Rescue or released under a Spay/Neuter Contract.<br/>Please understand that this process is not the same as traditional adoptions as it takes 1–2 weeks to coordinate medical checks and safe transport.<br/>---<br/><br/>PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING<br/>Every dog we post is on limited time.<br/>If you apply to adopt, please be fully committed to the process.<br/>Backing out after commitment can cost a life.<br/>There are no second chances once a euthanasia date is set. Coming Back Home Rescue's Adoption Policy
We start with an adoption application and then move on to schedule a Happy Visit to meet their pet of interest. If everything goes well they sign an adoption agreement, and pay an adoption donation before going home with their pets. We check in on a 3(day)-3(week)-3(months) basis to help ensure they are having success in introducing their new pet into their home.
