Pebbles's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Pebbles is a fun and spunky little Pomeranian in search of her forever family. She loves everyone and anyone who will give her love and pets.

She is working hard on her housetraining and doing pretty well. She mingles very well with the other dogs in her foster home.

Pebbles has a grade II-III heart murmur. She saw cardiologist Dr. George for a full heart work up/echocardiogram which revealed degenerative heart disease - primarily the mitral valve is affected. This is something that will need to be monitored with radiographs and/or an echocardiogram every 6-12 months. She does not need any heart medications at this time as her disease is pretty mild.

ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:

Physically fenced in yard to keep her safe - no invisible fences.
Pebbles would do great in a home with or without a resident dog.
*All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne diseases, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped.

Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they generally require extra time to settle in and acclimate. Skills like house training, leash walking, and mastering stairs may require a little extra practice. However, with understanding, patience, and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly.
