Pearly's Story

Pearly recently came to us after their beloved dad was facing a terminal illness. Knowing he wouldn't be able to care for them much longer, he made the incredibly difficult but selfless decision to surrender them so she could find a safe, loving home for the rest of their lives. Pearly is still settling in, but one thing is already clear, they are both incredibly sweet and easygoing.💓

Pearly is 12 years old and about 16 lbs. She's very attached to her human and will happily follow you from room to room like a little shadow. She loves being close to her person but also does well relaxing when she has Lola or another small dog nearby. Pearly does have some joint pain, which we're hopeful will improve as she loses a little weight! Her bloodwork looked good, and overall she's doing well.

Sweet Pearly girl does have occasional nightmares, so she may need a little extra comfort sometimes.

Despite everything she has been through, she is affectionate, gentle, and happy to soak up love. Pearly enjoys the simple things in life -- cozy naps, treats, and being close to her people!

To apply to have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport, please visit our website at https://longwayhome.org/adopt.

❤
Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds.
