Pearl's Story

Apply to Adopt Me!

Hey ladies, are you in the market for a new best gal pal?? Look no further than Miss Pearl! Pearl is approximately 2 years old, weighs 15 lbs. and we believe she is a chihuahua mix. Pearl was thankfully saved when a couple found her running stray along a busy highway in GA. She was so scared and timid upon arrival, but her personality has already started to blossom after just a few weeks! Pearl has so much love to give. Her perfect day would be snuggling on the couch with you alllll day, watching movies or bingeing your favorite shows and napping. She loves belly rubs, giving kisses, and being pet. She mostly keeps to herself around the other dogs and kitty in her foster home, but doesn’t mind their presence. Sadly, Pearl is still very timid around men, so needs a woman as her main caretaker. Right off the bat, she loved her foster mom and any new women that she has met, and she has made huge strides with her foster dad, but is still skiddish. She is never reactive, only very scared. Loud noises and chaos also scare her, so we think she would be happiest and most comfortable in an adult-only, calmer home. Pearl is house trained and can easily be crated, although she doesn’t need to be. She currently does her business in her foster's fenced yard. She doesn't really need the crate, and would be totally fine just napping on the couch or in a dog bed when you aren't home. She recently got the special treat of sleeping in the big human bed, and she absolutely loved it— she crawled right under the covers to snuggle all night! She doesn't seem to know what toys are, and does well riding in a car with maybe a bit of nervousness. We are requiring a fenced yard for her because she is terrified of walking on a leash. She needs someone who can slowly get her used to being comfortable on a leash. If you can give her just a little time and patience to trust you, Pearl will give you back 10x the love she receives. If you believe you have the perfect home for Pearl, and you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area, complete and app and tell us more about you.
