Pearl likes to observe her surroundings and take everything in before deciding she feels safe. Once she does, her resilient and affectionate personality begins to shine.

Pearl especially loves being around people and happily soaks up affection, cuddles, and attention. She also has a wonderfully curious side and enjoys investigating new places, almost as if she is discovering everything the world has to offer for the first time.

At 6 years old, Pearl has moved beyond the puppy stage but still has plenty of life, love, and adventure ahead of her. She would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal, affectionate dog to share their days with.

Pearl's Ideal Home

Pearl would thrive with a family or single person looking for a devoted and affectionate companion—qualities she will happily return tenfold.

She would love a home where she can enjoy daily walks, plenty of affection, and a relaxed lifestyle with her people. Pearl does well with other dogs and could happily share her home with a compatible canine sibling, but she would also be content soaking up all the attention as someone's special companion.

Most importantly, Pearl deserves a family who will give her the time and security she needs to settle in and show them just how special she truly is.

Pearl's Rescue Story

We don't know exactly where Pearl's journey began, but her gentle demeanor and big heart make it seem as though she once knew what it was like to have a home.

Somewhere along the way, life changed, and Pearl found herself in a shelter on the outskirts of Guadalajara, Mexico. We don't know how long she was there, but eventually the shelter itself was at risk of closing, leaving many dogs with nowhere to go. An urgent call went out to rescuers in the area asking for help.

Among the dogs still waiting were Pearl and her longtime companion, Noel. The two had remained side by side, overlooked in part because they were older and larger than some of the other dogs. Through it all, Pearl seemed to be Noel's steady presence—a loyal companion offering comfort and reassurance during an uncertain time.

With approval from Northwest Wag Rescue, our rescue partners in Guadalajara stepped in and brought Pearl and Noel out of the shelter. They were moved to a safer environment near Lake Chapala, surrounded by nature, sunshine, and caring people who gave them the opportunity to finally relax, heal, and simply enjoy being dogs again.

Several months have now passed, and Pearl is ready for the most important chapter of her journey:

Finding the forever family who will finally choose her.

A Special Note About Noel

Pearl and Noel have been longtime companions and have shared so much of their journey together. While Pearl can be adopted separately, if you are interested in potentially adopting them together, please contact Northwest Wag Rescue for more information.

Location: Mexico — waiting for an adoptive commitment to travel to the PNW
Adoption Fee: $650
Apply: www.northwestwagrescue.org
