Pear's Story

Meet PJ...the 2nd best dog ever. This dude reminds me of our rescue dog Pete that is seriously the 1st best dog ever. PJ is going to be a handful but is going to also be the smartest (or 2nd smartest) dog ever and will absolutely be a loyal companion and soldier. I would highly recommend a person/family that is high energy with the patience of steel. He will follow you to the end of earth and back but will equally test your resolve every single day. I know...I own his alter ego. My Pete can jump a 6 ft fence (but won't unless I'm on the other side) can herd cattle/pigs/chickens/other dogs, will get pissed when I leave without him, will pout, steal food of the counter...pick your battle. BUT he would throw his life on the line for me in a minute flat. Little Pear (PJ...Pete Junior) is the exact replica of my boy in every sense of the word. We are going to be extremely picky about where this boy goes and I assure you, it needs to be a place where he can run and enjoy his gypsy roots. If you are picked, you are special to us!!

Black Dog Club's Adoption Policy

Blackdog Club makes every effort to match potential adopters with a pet that shares similar personalities and lifestyle traits. We do not adopt based on looks. The first step in our process is a meet and greet here at the rescue facility. If you are adopting a dog into a home where there is an existing dog, we do recommend a formal meet and greet between the canines here at the rescue. Proof of vaccinations are required for any pet coming onto the property. We recommend emailing a copy of your adoption application prior to any meet and greet to expedite the adoption process. A vet reference is required prior to adoption. If this is a first pet, we encourage potential adopters to seek out and establish a relationship with a vet prior to application submission.
