Peanut's Story

Princess Peanut has arrived and trust us, everyone is aware. This little queen does not enter a room so much as sweep into it with an imaginary spotlight following her every move. She is loud, she is proud, and she absolutely believes the world is her stage (and honestly, she is not wrong). Peanut will ricochet from one person to the next with pure delight, yipping like the social butterfly she is.
She is eight years old but refuses to act her age, it's just a number after all. Daily walks? Essential. Playtime? Mandatory. Peanut is a diva and she has requirements. Her new family must remain close enough to admire her, snuggle her, and compliment her beauty at all times. She thrives with an audience unless she suddenly decides to bolt and make you chase her for sport. She seems to enjoy the thrill of being pursued, so she must always be on leash outdoors or contained in a very secure fenced area. Her legs are tiny but shockingly fast.
*She also should not be left alone. Ever. She has made that clear.*
If you are searching for a sparkly, demanding, entertaining prima donna who will absolutely take over your life and make you thank her for it, Peanut is your girl. Honestly there is no topping this little showgirl who will have you wondering how you ever lived before her reign began.

Weight: 11 pounds
Age: 8 years
Other Dogs: Friendly
Cats: Friendly
Kids: Children over 8. Minor nipping of ankles while running, excitement.
Home Type: semi-active home, home literally all of the time or willing to bring her everywhere in her chariot. Has boarded at HSAR in the past.
Leash Behavior: Walks fairly well on leash
Commands: "sit" - Peanut knows her name
Has been house trained
Secure Fencing Required

If you are interested in adopting Peanut please fill out our online application at highsierraanimalrescue.org. Once your application has been reviewed and approved we will work with you to schedule an appointment with the Queen.
Please no "drop-ins" to view dogs without an appointment.
All High Sierra Animal Rescue dogs are spayed or neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate shots, micro-chipped, tested for heart worm, given heart worm preventative medication each month, and de-wormed.
