Peanut's Story

Available for Adoption
Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier (DNA tested!)
Age/Size: ~2.5 years | 55 lbs
Neutered | UTD on Vaccines | Crate-Trained

? About Peanut

Peanut was pulled from the Cabarrus County Animal Shelter in December 2024 and has been in foster care ever since. Some people might ask, “What’s wrong with him? Why hasn’t he been adopted?” Let us be clear: nothing is wrong with Peanut. He’s healthy, happy, and so full of love. The only reason he hasn’t been adopted is because he simply hasn’t found his person (or people) yet.

He’s a goofy, affectionate boy who adores his humans, lives for sniffy walks and ball time, and leans in for cuddles like it’s his full-time job. He’s been patiently waiting—maybe for you!

? Peanut’s Personality

• Silly, sweet, and eager to love
• Likes other dogs who share his play style and with slow, proper intros
• Highly food motivated
•Loves sniffy walks, playing ball, and couch cuddles
• Knows "sit" and is quick to learn

? Medical Notes

• Neutered
• Up to date on all vaccines
• Monthly Simparica Trio (for prevention of heartworms, fleas, and ticks)

? Ideal Home

Peanut would love nothing more than a home where he’s truly part of the family — or a person to call his very own. He’ll thrive as your loyal one-and-only or happily share life with a friendly dog buddy. He gets short bursts of playful energy followed by naps and cuddle sessions. Peanut would do best in a home with older children, as his excitement and zoomies could easily steamroll a toddler (no malice—just too much happy energy in one wiggly body!). No feline friends for this kid, sorry.

An adoption fee of $250 includes vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip, flea and heartworm preventatives if appropriate, and all necessary medical costs while in our care.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please request an application. **We typically respond within a few hours. If you do not receive an email back within 24 hours please be sure to check your junk/spam folder.**
