Peaches's Story
Meet our little nugget Peaches. She is a 6 year old, 10 pound AKC Havanese, former puppy mill breeder.

Peaches LOVES her foster mom, and while it takes her a while to warm up to new people, she will surely become a loving little dog for her new family.

Peaches is house trained as long as you follow a routine. She enjoys her walks, likes to ride in the car and snuggle in bed at night with her foster mom and siblings.

She lives happily with her foster sisters (also small dogs), from whom she has learned a lot about trust and play. She would do best with another small, easygoing dog or possibly as an only pet child, provided her people are home much of the time.

Peaches was confined for five years before entering rescue, and it is clear that she does not like being crated. Her foster mom leaves her out with the other dogs while she is away and she does fine.

All puppy mill survivors must have a secure fenced area large enough to run and play that is attached directly to the living area of the home.

Peaches is spayed and fully vetted. She is fed a raw diet, very minimal vaccines and none chemical flea, tick and heartworm prevention. As natural care providers we adopt to people of like mind. A Natural care approach to our pets contributes to a healthier and longer life. We are happy to talk with you about our program

We adopt within an hour drive from the foster home, which is in Akron, OH. We ask perspective adopters to visit with the dog in the foster home so that they can see her in her comfort zone. We also do a home visit, bringing the dog with us. That way, when the dog is adopted they are leaving with people they already know and going somewhere they have already been. We found this to be the easiest transition for the dog.

Please contact Martha Leary at 330.466.3667 or email learymrji@aol.com for more information.

Star-Mar Rescue is registered with the Ohio Department of Agriculture as required by State law.

Sent from my Galaxy
