Peaches's Story
Meet Peaches! Peaches is a 2-year-old Red Heeler mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She’s smart, loyal, and full of love. She's the kind of dog who bonds deeply and just wants to be near her people.

Peaches is currently in a loving foster home, where she’s settling in and learning more each day. Her foster family says she adores being outside, sniffing, exploring, and would absolutely thrive in a home that can provide her with daily adventures, outdoor time, or even off-leash opportunities once she’s ready. She’s also incredibly affectionate, a true cuddlebug who will melt into you and shower you with kisses.

Though Peaches is still shy around strangers and alert to new house sounds, she’s making great progress with routine, training, and trust-building. She’s learning commands like sit, stay, wait, leave it, and find. She's also doing great with house manners, crate time, improving on leash walking, and working hard on not pulling.

Peaches hasn’t lived with other dogs much, but we think she has the potential to make a great companion with the right introductions and guidance. She doesn’t guard her food and is very motivated by treats (tuna and chicken are favorites!). Because she’s still figuring out the world, she’d do best in a calm, consistent home, preferably with older kids, where she can continue to grow in confidence.

This sweet, spunky girl just needs a chance to feel safe and loved. With time, structure, and plenty of affection, Peaches will make an absolutely wonderful best friend. You really need to come and meet this precious girl!

Peaches is in a foster home, so please call 307-883-PETS to schedule a time to meet her. You can also stop by the shelter Fridays or Saturdays from 10 am to 4 pm, Sundays and Mondays from 1 pm to 4 pm, or visit our website to learn more!
