Peaches's Story

Hi, I’m Peaches,
I’m a 65 lb, 7-year-old American Pit Bull. My foster mom calls me a couch hippo but I do love to go for walks and play with my toys. I really enjoy laying out in the sunshine, snuggling and taking naps on my favorite pillow. Did I mention I love to snuggle? I am fully potty trained and I even know how to use a dog door.

I have mastered my good manners, especially in the house and I can sit, heel and I have really good recall. I also tried my paw at some fun agility too. I get along with other dogs so a dog with the same playful energy (not bossy) would be fun, or being the only dog would be great too. I do like to chase cats. Sorry, it just seems fun and I can’t help myself. I love kids of all ages but due to my size and occasional excitable jumping, I’m looking for a home with kids over 12.

I attend doggy daycare on Fridays and it’s so much fun getting to hang out with all of my friends. I’m all up to date on my vaccines and I’m spayed.

I am currently on a very inexpensive thyroid medication, and allergy shots and I also eat a prescription food due to skin allergies (my foster mom thinks my “spin dance” at mealtimes is adorable). I require regular baths with my special shampoo to keep my skin nice and healthy, but who doesn’t, right?

I love to go on adventures, and hang out outside in the fenced yard (I definitely want a fenced yard) and car rides are my favorite. I am very goofy, playful and energetic but also can be quite lazy, hence the nickname Couch Hippo, so I would be best suited in a home who is fairly active but also likes to snuggle up and enjoy some lazy time too. Just a warning, I’m not a morning girl. I do like my beauty rest. I am very smart, eager to please and treat motivated so that means training comes pretty easy to me. My ideal new best friend should be someone who understands my breed and is willing to continue positive reward-based training with me.

Oh, one more thing, my adoption will need to be local so a home visit can be done to make sure I’ll be safe and happy in my new forever home.

If you are interested in meeting me you can fill out an application. Don’t worry I’ll be right here waiting for you.

Only applications submitted through this link will be considered. https://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/co436Skqbd5y6l9a714dVN

(Copy and paste into your internet browser.)
