PD's Story

Meet PD, a 10 year old Chihuahua. This little guy is fully potty trained! He has never had a single accident in his foster home. His favorite things are his people, his furry foster brother, belly scratches, being the boss of his household, and his twice a day treats (the only way he takes his medication). PD has been diagnosed with an enlarged heart and a heart murmur, requiring daily medication. Also has kidney concerns which are maintained on a prescription kidney-support diet. He would benefit from losing some weight (he's quite chunky) with light exercise. It will be beneficial for his overall health. PD does not like dogs bigger than he is. He also does not like when his foster brother is getting attention and he isn't, or when someone gets too close while he is on your lap (he can be a bit possessive with his people). This special guy needs a calm and loving home that does not have a lot of new people coming around. He can be very spicy towards new people as he is very protective of his family. His furever family must also be willing to continue caring for his medical needs. He's been the bestest boy in his foster home.

PD's $300 adoption fee covers his neuter, vaccines, heartworm test, flea/tick/heartworm preventatives, deworming medication, and microchip registration. You can apply at https://gfrpets.org/apply/adoptdog/

All of our animals require a no-obligation, free application submitted, which you can find at our website http://gfrpets.org. Our adoptable pets are in foster care and we do not have a physical shelter, so, once approved, we will arrange with you a meet and greet. We have select cats and kittens in the Pekin Petco condos. All of our pets are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, and microchipped with flea and heartworm preventative. Learn more about our adoption process and apply through our website.
