Payton's Story

Payton is a senior white and black pit bull who weighs about 50 pounds. Dumped at Lake Ouchita State Park after she had puppies, she was found by park rangers she was heartworm positive and was very thin. Payton is the sweetest, would prefer to be any inside only dog. She gets along well with other dogs but is perfectly satisfied and keeps to herself is she has a dog bed or a bone. She loves people but has been reactive with children under 10 years old. Payton has lived in the shelter since 2024, is now healthy and is waiting for her forever home.

All HSGC pets come with their medical file that shows they have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested, and current on heartworm/flea and tick prevention. Visit our website at hsgconline.org to fill out our application and see all of our pets available for adoption.
