Paw Paw's Story

Meet Paw Paw!

Paw Paw is a 5-year-old, 10-pound chihuahua who loves being a spoiled prince as it truly is his calling in life.

Paw Paw is pure big man energy in a tiny body. He’s a “typical chi” through and through—just the right amount of spicy, a little bit bossy, and a lot adorable. He loves to curl up in his cozy bed, burrow under blankets when it’s cold, and be cuddled and petted… but only when the royal schedule allows it. If he’s not in the mood, he’ll let you know with that classic chi attitude.

He does wonderfully with other small dogs and enjoys playing with friends his size. Big dogs can be a bit intimidating for him, and he tries to overcompensate by barking and being the boss, he will need time to adjust to bigger dogs and would do better with bigger dogs who can ignore him til he settles down.

Because he has that signature chihuahua spiciness and has nipped without warning, Paw Paw is looking for an adult-only home with someone who appreciates and understands little dogs with big personalities or a home with older children who can respect him!

He’s crate trained and behaves like a perfect gentleman. He’s working hard on his potty training and still has a tendency to mark, but he’s making progress—and he even learned how to use the doggy door! He is currently in a multi-dog household and may do better on potty training with less dogs around, however, this is not guaranteed, we would highly recommend using belly bands for him.

Paw Paw is looking for a forever person who can love his goofy, confident, cuddly-when-he-feels-like-it self. If you enjoy a dog with personality for days, Paw Paw just might be your tiny king! 🐾

Paw Paw is currently in a foster home in the OKC metro area.
If interested in adopting or scheduling a meet and greet please fill out an adoption application here: https://www.kanoarescuefoundation.org/foster-adoption

If you have additional questions please feel free to text us on our text-only line at (405)255-3484.
