Patrick's Story

Patrick is absolutely adorable, with a beautiful face and one brown eye and one blue eye. He is currently about 8 weeks old and weighs approximately 5.5 pounds. He's quite the foodie and loves his meals as well as his treats. Patrick is very smart and already connects to words like "treat," "potty," "kisses," "hungry," and "sit." The word "no" is the difficult one--but he is still a puppy, LOL.

We've already started leash training, and he responds very well to it. Since he's so young, he does still have the occasional potty accident, but overall we think he's doing a great job with potty training. In the crate he may bark for a little bit, but he has a good tendency to settle down quickly. We've also trimmed his nails once already, and it didn't bother him--you have to start those things early!

We also put him in his crate for at least a half hour each day away from everyone to help prevent separation anxiety. Patrick is very playful and energetic, but after a good play session he's happy to curl up and take a nap. At times he can find his voice and be a little feisty, but overall he is a gigantic sweetheart who would win anyone's heart.

Patrick is available as part of our Foster to Adopt Program - what this means is that his adoptive family (once approved through the adoption process), will act as his foster family until he is of age to be neutered and his puppy vaccinations are completed. Foster to Adopt families MUST be located within 1 hour driving distance of our location. This is because puppies will have several clinic visits for vaccination updates and our veterinary partners are all in the Raleigh, NC area.
