Patches is a sweet little Chihuahua. She is about 8 years old, medium energy and 6.5 lbs.<br/><br/>Patches ideal home:<br/><br/>* Adult only<br/>* Yard (no apartments)<br/>* Small dogs only <br/>* Someone mostly at home<br/>* Willing to continue housetraining<br/><br/>Patches wound up at the animal shelter with her companion Ava after their owner passed away. They get along well and can be adopted together or separately. <br/><br/>Patches is affectionate, silly, playful and smart. She becomes quite bonded to her people and is a loyal little dog. She will happily follow her family around the house and yard most of the day. In the evening she enjoys being a lap dog. She occasionally plays with toys and likes some types of chewy bones. She will play a bit with other small, friendly dogs. <br/><br/>Patches currently lives with dogs of various sizes and gets along with them but she prefers small dogs. Large dogs have a tendency to intimidate her. She also lives with dog savvy cats and is respectful with them. She might challenge shy kitties and chase if they run. Children would likely overwhelm her so an adult only home is recommended. She is an alert barker so likely would not do well in an apartment. She would not be happy being left home alone daily for long hours and prefers to be with her family the majority of the time.<br/><br/>Patches is crate trained but does not love her crate and prefers being with her people. She is doing well with house training in her foster home but will need continued training in a new home. She comes when called most of the time and is learning to walk politely on a leash. <br/><br/>Patches likely would do well in a home with a mostly stay at home person who would include her in daily activities.
