Patches

Patches was a stray that had been hanging out at a campground in the area. She was spotted on several occasions, but no one was able to coax her to them. Then she was spotted in other areas spanning over miles. Sightings were reported. it was noted that she returned to the campground and was staying close. The campground was closing and everyone was concerned that there would be no one there. They had all been leaving food for her. One last camper noted that she was hanging around his campsite. We had one day to get her before closing. A trap was set and closely monitored. Success!!! She was brought to the shelter. Given a nice meal, a warm bed, and a safe place to finally relax.
We had learned from her lost posting on Facebook that her name was Patches. She was 8 years old and had been rehomed by her original owner. She was not good with the cats, but was great with kids.
We are now looking for a nice retirement home for Patches. A home where she will be loved, able to spend time with the family, cuddle up at your feet and enjoy a relaxing TV program and some good snacks. Patches is a quiet dog, except when you run the vacuume she barks. She is housebroke. She would love to come and live with your family.
For information on our adoption process you can telephone the Thumb Animal Shelter at 989-375-4204 or e-mail us at echelon@airadv.net Hope to hear from you soon.
