Patch's Story

Meet Patch!

Patch was rescued as a stray in late April 2026. While we don't know much about his past, we do know he's a mellow, sweet pup who's ready to discover all that life has to offer.

When he first arrived at his foster home, Patch was unsure about new sounds and unfamiliar experiences. Since then, he has made amazing progress and grown in confidence. He is potty trained and does well at home when his humans are away for the day. He spends much of this time looking out the window, napping, following his people around and doing the Patch curl (his way of asking for butt scratches!).

Patch walks very well on his leash and rarely pulls. He is curious about squirrels, rabbits and birds and may lunge if they make a sudden movement or are close enough to chase. He gets nervous around other dogs and will bark/growl to make him look big and scary (in reality, he's really scared). He is working on leash manners and building confidence around other dogs in training (+ making progress every day!). He has shown he can live with and walk alongside other dogs depending on the temperament of the dog.

*While Patch is potty trained, in new environments, he will mark on vertical surfaces. Indoor living is still new to him, so it takes time for him to understand where he can and cannot go. He is a quick learner and loves to please his people. With some training and patience, he will quickly learn where he can go potty.*

If you think Patch could be the perfect addition to your family, he'd love the chance to meet you and find the forever home he's been waiting for.
