Rescued after a scary brush with a car on I-45, she is healing beautifully from a minor front leg fracture and is completely ready to leave her street-life days behind for a lifetime of love. <br/><br/>True to her name, Parmesan is a mellow, easygoing girl whose best asset is her overall sweetness. She can be a bit shy and introverted at first, but once she warms up, her deeply affectionate Shepherd loyalty shines through. In fact, she has the most endearing habit of gently grabbing your hand with her mouth to guide it exactly where she wants to be scratched! She is a peaceful companion who loves nothing more than laying in the grass to soak up the sun, going for car rides, and being a professional couch potato.<br/><br/>Parmesan is a wonderfully polite housemate. She has excellent leash manners, is mostly potty trained, and is crate-tolerant when you leave the house. Because she is a very quiet girl who rarely ever barks, she is incredibly versatile—she would thrive just as well in a condo or townhome with shared walls as she would in a single-family house. While she is currently navigating life indoors and discovering that sleeping in the "big bed" with her humans is the best thing ever, she has proven to be low-maintenance and gentle. She would do wonderfully in a calm environment (either as an honored only pet or with a gentle dog friend) where she can finish healing and soak up all the affection she deserves.
