Parker's Story

Courtesy Post - Parker is in a foster home through River Rouge Animal Shelter

Parker is a super sweet boy who is as loving as he is handsome. At 8 years, he is an older adult dog on the cusp of "senior" status but he will still chase a ball (though not for as long as he once did). He is great with everyone he meets and does well with other dogs (no cats, please!).

Parker is tall and about 70 pounds. He is neutered, microchipped, and fully vetted. He is house trained and crate trained. He would be great in any home but would thrive in a home where humans are home more often than not. He knows basic commands and walks well on a leash.

Parker enjoys being outside but is a tall boy who can jump a short fence, so supervised yard time or a privacy fence would be best.

Parker can most often be found lying on the couch or sometimes on the bed. He is very loving and will often cuddle up near his person on the couch - he would love to be a lap dog but isn't quite aware of his size! He loves food and treats and is motivated by the same.

Parker is in a loving foster home but really needs a home of his own with someone who will love him for the rest of his life. If that sounds like you, please email brightpointrescue@gmail.com for a meet-and-greet!

Bright Point Rescue's Adoption Policy
Our adoptables are fully vetted, up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and microchipped prior to adoption, with the exception of puppies under 6 months of age. In those instances, the puppies are adopted with a spay/neuter agreement stating the adopter agrees to spay/neuter after 6 months of age (per our vet's recommendation). Our process: Complete a Petfinder inquiry. IF there is not a meet-and-greet/pending adoption already scheduled and we are still in search of the perfect home then: One of our adoption counselors will contact you to discuss the adoption of the pet that you are interested in. A meet-and-greet is scheduled so that you can meet your potential family member. After a successful meet-and-greet, if our adoptable is a match for you/your family, adoption is finalized! Please understand that we are (by design) a very small volunteer-run rescue. Our puppies, kittens and purebred adoptables often get a great deal of inquiries and we do not conduct phone interviews for everyone who inquires, as we do not have the resources for that type of follow-up. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older. Thank you for considering a Bright Point Rescue adoptable!
