PARKER's Story

Contact my foster at, taylorcrocetti@gmail.com Imagine your first year and a half of life being chained to a stake in a backyard. A year meant for growing and learning and loving. But all you know is to pace in a dusty circle hoping more food will come. You’ve never had a full belly. You’ve never felt carpet or wood floors. you’ve never been taken on a walk. You don’t know what a couch is, or how to nap in that perfect sun puddle across the floor when the shades hit just right. But most of all, you don’t know human touch, human love, human affection. But you were saved and you’re learning at your pace and you’re being such a good brave boy. Meet Parker. One of 50+ dogs brought in the summer of 2025 as a confiscation case. This sweet shy guy is learning the ropes of finally being able to be a dog. He would love his person to find him! Words to describe Parker that come to mind are LOYAL - despite his past, this boy checks in with his person for reassurance and direction. He finds comfort knowing they are near CALM - while he’s still a bit shy and learning new things, Parker is a champ in public. He allows pets from strangers, doesn’t phase when tiny “big dog syndrome” dogs are barking hard at him and patiently waits to cross the railroad tracks when a very noisy train goes by. OBSERVANT- Parker really enjoys taking in his surroundings. PLAYS HARD TO GET - who doesn’t love a game of winning someone over. All this guy needs is a little time and patience and he’ll be your match! STEADY/LOVES ROUTINE... Parker has thrived learning routines to help keep him on point Other highlights! - Dog and cat friendly (slow intros always recommended). He would do well with a fur sibling to help him build more confidence. He does love to rough house with his foster brother! - Crate and potty trained. He loves his crate! - Amazing leash walker! Funny quirk is he always stays on your left side - Great size with medium energy. He’ll keep up with what you want to do! Parker is a special guy who has come out of his shell in a foster home. What he really wants is forever with someone patient, loving and loyal just like him. Foster highlights... I love the way Parker trusts me. It takes a while to get his trust. But once you've earned his trust, it's a really beautiful thing. You'll see it in the way he's constantly checking in with you when you're out in public or before he does anything questionable. What are three adjectives you would use to describe him? - Steady: Parker loves having similar routines most days - Peaceful: even though he can be silly and funny, Parker is relatively laid back and chill. He never pulls on his leash, never really reacts to other dogs, he's just. Easy to get along with. What is the most unique thing about his personality and/or something that you’ll miss about him when he gets adopted? I think the most unique thing is how dedicated he is to his habits. He used to run the same loop in my yard over and over again. When he goes on walks he always always always has to walk on your left hand side, if he can't figure out where you're headed to stay on your left side, he'll walk a circle around you. He does the same number of spins before he goes out in the yard every day. He's very consistent. I will miss the routine he's help hold me accountable to. What’s his energy level? Happy medium. Loves to be outside. Loves naps. Perfectly content doing either. Whats the funniest thing he’s ever done? He does this adorable thing when he's playing with other dogs, where he'll tilt his head to the side and lift one of his paws in the air, and then start hopping toward his opponent on the remaining leg as an attack and it is probably one of the most adorable things I've ever seen a dog do. I think I have a video he's doing it in. It's just so gentle and cute.
