PARKER's Story

Parker is a 4 1/2 year-old beagle looking for his forever home. He is crate-trained and working on house training. He is good with cats, other dogs and with kids. Parker is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to become part of your family.

Let us introduce you to Parker!! This moderately active sweet little guy is easy to get along with and enjoying his retired life. He is crate trained, crated when alone and keeps it clean and dry. He does not whine or complain about anything and just goes into his crate and sleeps there thru the night. He is working on his house training and goes to the door to signal a need to go out. He does very well walking on lead and does eliminate during his walks. Parker is quiet, rarely barks, and loves his toys (especially rope toys and Nyla bones), He especially enjoys searching thru the toy box to discover new play things. He will run off some energy with a brief case of ZOOMIES to the delight of his foster parents. While he can become startled with loud noises, he recovers quickly and searches out the source of the noise. He enjoys the company of the other dogs in his foster home but really enjoys snuggling with his humans and getting back or belly rubs while you read or watch TV. Parker is eager to please, learning some obedience commands and super friendly with every adult or child he has met. Parker is very adaptable and can do well in an apartment, condo or home. A fenced in back yard or enclosed area where he can explore or run and play would be ideal for him. The company of another dog and/or children would also make Parker happy and give a new playmate. If you believe this handsome guy is a great addition to your family, please complete a Dog Adoption Application to get the process started!!

If you're interested in adopting Parker, please first read about our adoption process. Then, complete an adoption application found at www.happypawsrescue.org under the *ADOPT* tab. Thank you for your interest in adopting!

You may not know it, but you might have a BEAGLE to thank for your medicines! Beagles are used for safety testing of human and veterinary medicines for the same reasons that they make good pets; they're small and gentle-natured. Where does Happy Paws Rescue come into the picture? On a regular basis, research facilities have beagles that they release to us. It gives us and you a chance to give back to these sweet dogs that have contributed to the advancement of science. Please email us if you're ready to be a giant hero in the eyes of a little dog!

Thinking about adopting me? Here’s how:
1. Fill out an application found at www.happypawsrescue.org under the *ADOPT* tab.
2. Please allow 5-7 business days for us to review and respond to your application.
3. Approved applicants will be invited to come meet me at a scheduled meet and greet or adoption event.
4. If both you and the rescue agree that the dog you meet is a good fit for your home, you will fill out an adoption contract and exchange an adoption fee of $400 for dogs. You dog can go home the day of the Meet & Greet.
5. We generally adopt to families within a 90 mile radius of our home base in Piscataway, NJ but may consider farther distances in the tri-state region if volunteers are available. If you live beyond our geographical boundaries, we hope you will contact rescue organizations closer to your home.
