Papi in Colorado's Story
Meet adorable little old Papi in Colorado!

Anyone who meets little 11 yr old Papi will say that he is such a sweet and gentle boy. He gets excited to go outside, and loves to go for long walks with his humans. He will even get a gallop going from time to time, and has some spunk for his age. He also loves down time cuddle sessions, and will curl up on the couch next to you, or even on your lap so that he can have his head and ears rubbed. What a sweetheart!

Papi has lived successfully with cats, and tends to ignore them. He has more interest in other dogs, and loves to play and interact with dogs of all ages. He also has done well with kids of all ages as well.

Papi is doing great healthwise for his age, but does have limited vision and hearing. He tends to cock his head to the side when he’s really trying to listen which is so cute! His favorite sounds are the garage door opening which means someone is coming home, and the sound of the fridge opening. He loves cheese! His visual deficits are due to corneal edema, and he’s on a reasonably priced over the counter eye drop twice a day to help with that. Despite his limited sight, he moves through life very confidently. He does tend to bump into things as he is getting used to new environments, but navigates really well once he has mapped everything out. He would probably do best in a home where he didn’t need to navigate too many stairs on his own, and may need some supervision at first when he’s on furniture or in a location where he could hurt himself.

Papi had a recent dental and needed to have all of his teeth removed, but is now feeling so much better! Because of this, he needs to have soft food, and his cute little tongue will often be sticking out.

Papi is such an amazing little guy, and we would love to find him his perfect forever home and family.
