SATURDAY, JULY 27 from 12-3PM: Dog Adoption Event at OLATHE PETSMART at 119th & Strang Line with volunteers from Heart of America Humane Society. We’ll have several wonderful dogs there looking for homes!
WEEKEND SHELTER HOURS:
SATURDAY, JULY 27: OPEN 10AM - 3PM — NO APPOINTMENT NECESSARY!
SUNDAY, JULY 28 : OPEN 10AM - 3PM — NO APPOINTMENT NECESSARY!
Meet Pandora, the life of the paw-ty! At 2 years old and weighing a svelte 50 lbs, she's got a smile that could melt the coldest of hearts and a personality as bubbly as a shaken soda can. Pandora is a people-lover through and through, and she's got a knack for making friends with dogs too. Playtime is her middle name, especially if there's a squeaky toy involved – she's a sucker for those noisy delights!
Now, here's the twist: Pandora's got a bit of a "leash" on life. Literally! While she's an expert at bringing the fun, she's still mastering the art of walking like a dignified lady on a leash. But hey, who needs perfect leash skills when you've got charm for days?
In the midst of all this hilarity, Pandora's dealing with a minor hiccup – those pesky heartworms. But hold your treats! The good news is, all her treatment costs are covered, and she just needs a comfy home to chill in while she kicks those heartworms to the curb. Once she's all clear, she'll be zooming around like a squirrel on a caffeine high, living her best doggy life without a care in the world.

ADOPTING A PET
We are open for meet and greet adoptions at our shelter on weekends. No appointment is necessary for weekend adoptions. Our weekend hours vary and we also have satellite adoption events every weekend. We are also open Monday through Friday by appointment. Please contact us by phone at 913-321-1445 or by email at petadoptions@kckpd.org to schedule your appointment during weekdays.
If you have a dog or children we ask that you bring them with you to meet our dogs to make sure it is a good match.
Our dogs have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and tested for heartworms (if 7 months or older).
