Paloma's Story

Food is the way to this girl’s heart! Relatable, right? Honestly, it doesn’t even have to be good food. Paloma is a bit nervous and prefers to keep some distance when meeting strangers but it is easy to win her over – even with mediocre treats. It’s a small price to pay for the sweetness Paloma has to share!

Paloma is a bit of a velcro dog, meaning she loves to be close to her people. She’s a true lap dog and really enjoys snuggling. Paloma is also crate trained though and is fine resting quietly in her safe space.

She gets along well with other dogs (large and small) but can be scared by dogs with a lot of energy—she prefers calmer pals. She also isn't the greatest at reading other dogs' signals, so a grumpy dog is probably not the best match for her. Paloma would be fine as an only dog. Paloma has been unphased when seeing cats up close but hasn’t had an opportunity to freely interact with them.

When kept on a routine, Paloma is housetrained and goes potty outside. She will also use pee pads.

Paloma was severely neglected prior to coming into the rescue as a stray from animal control. She was nearly skeletal, had open pressure sores, terrible urine staining, and a mouth full of rotten teeth. Despite how she was treated in the past, Paloma is extremely loving when she knows she can trusts you.

Approximate age: 8-10 years (but spunky!)
Approximate weight: 6 pounds (still needs to gain a tad more)

Note: we only do adoptions within 2 hours of Atlanta, GA
