Paloma's Story

Paloma goes a little heavy on the eye shadow, but we love her anyway. She's extremely people oriented and affectionate. She wants to be held and cuddled by everyone and if you sit down, she's instantly in the lap. Only a few days ago, this itty bitty girl was one of around 100 abandoned or unwanted dogs living out in the cold and dirt. Kind people fed them, and Paloma is actually chubby, but they were breeding rampantly and didn't have many options.

Little 8 pound Paloma is pretty much full grown at maybe 7-12 months old. She was one of a group of around 100 abandoned an unwanted dogs. Some of those dogs were rescued and others may get help soon. Others may never be so lucky. We're so thankful to all the compassionate people who stepped in to help the ones who made it out.

We are in a truly shocking overpopulation crisis and we're always packed. Squeezing in even one more dog right now is so challenging, but we had to make it work. We welcomed one, sweet little girl. Now she wakes up in a warm, soft bed indoors, safe and loved and wanted as a Dogwood dog. Some other lucky pups went to other rescues while the rest remain there. This is why we work so hard to promote and provide accessible spay/neuter to those who need help.

Applications at:

http://dogwoodanimalrescue.org/adoption-application-dogs/

You can follow us on social media at:

https://.www.instagram.com/dogwoodanimalrescue/
https://.www.facebook.com/.DogwoodAnimalRescue/

Making a difference, one animal at a time.
