The Oakland 8 arrived to our rescue in desperate condition. They had been neglected and ultimately abandoned. Terrified, stressed and covered in matted hair from disgusting conditions and running around in a backyard in the freezing cold with a total of 8 other dogs (and a deceased puppy on the property) we can only imagine what kind of nightmare life they had prior to rescue. <br/><br/>Now they are safe. They know gentleness, cuddling, learning to be in a house, engaging with children and other animals and of course they all had a proper grooming. It will take time to heal their nervousness but these dogs are absolutely amazing with sweet dispositions shining through, despite humans failing them early on. They are so forviging and they will be ready for loving homes very soon. Available to adopt in Santa Rosa 95403 in February 2020<br/><br/>Padme specifically seems to be the matriarch of the group. She is one of the shyest and probably had the longest experience of abuse. Despite that, she is friendly and sweet and wants to bond with a gentle person. She is around 7/8 years old, had a mammary tumor removed, has been spayed and has had her ears treated so she is doing VERY well now, much happier than when she arrived to us! She is learning to cuddle and wants to sit on a lap all day long. She wants to be someones best friend and lap companion. She is about 12lbs and is learning to use a potty pad while in foster care. She likes cats and dogs of all sizes, is very gentle with cats and other small dogs, is gentle with children and wants to bond deeply with her person. She is holding her potty now, and only requires going out once in the morning, once midday and once evening- she would work well in an apartment or condo
