Paco's Story
BASIC FACTS

Breed: Chihuahua Mix
Color: Cream and White
Age: 4 Years
Gender: Male
Size: 13 pounds
House-trained: Yes
Crate trained: Mostly (Continued work in progress)
Good with Kids: Unknown
Good with Dogs: Yes, but can resource guard sleeping area
Good with Cats: Unknown
Concerns: when crated barks initially; but settles in a few minutes and goes to sleep; resource guards food (if food in bowl), resting spaces (can be couch, chair, dog bed) and possibly the person he is snuggling with. He gives good warning growls when he's feeling overwhelmed. He's learning to trust and feel safe.

BIOGRAPHY:

Meet Paco!
Paco needs a home with patience and love. He's got a lot of opinions and is emotional; but this little guy has been through a lot in a short amount of time. He came into rescue from a stint at a shelter where he was owner surrendered and not adapting well. After only 11 days in his foster home, he's coping with new rules, but still learning. He's house trained, minus some initial marking. He does well in public situations, sniffing new people and walking well on leash. Paco also rides well in a car when appropriately restrained (crate or seatbelt). In his foster home, Paco lives with five dogs, a dog savvy teenager and two adults. He does well with the dogs outside in the yard and on walks; but is a little leery and untrusting with them inside the home. We keep him on leash, and his foster mom is helping him learn the ropes. He is also a wonderful snuggler and sleeper. Once he's hunkered in, he doesn't move a muscle and enjoys his peace. Paco is a sweet soul who needs TLC to help him understand that life doesn't have to be scary. Paco relishes warm, snuggly moments. He may be your guy if you're tender hearted with patience to teach him that the world is not a scary place and is full of unconditional love and understanding.

Paco is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative. He is being fostered in York, Pa and is available for an adoption fee of $400.00.
