Paco's Story

Meet Paco! This little guy is 10 years old and 10lbs. He was rescued in Texas and everyone who has fostered him adores him. He's great company and is just happy to be included (and cuddled). Paco deserves the softest beds and all the love in his golden years. <br/><br/>Paco tested positive for heartworm and was treated before leaving Texas. <br/><br/>His foster says:<br/><br/>"Paco is the sweetest little guy there is! Weighing in at a mighty 10lbs, he’s definitely a forever puppy. His favorite things are long naps (he loves to sleep in), food and cuddles. He’s the quietest little shadow around the house and will happily watch you cook dinner or curl up on your lap while working. It's safe to say Paco’s loves attention, sitting on laps and cuddles- anytime, anywhere.<br/><br/>He’s a bit shy as he adjusts to big city life but loves stopping to take in all the smells. He gets along great with other dogs and I think he’d do well with a brother or sister to keep him company. He turns a lot of heads, getting plenty of “awww’s” every walk.<br/><br/>He’s house-trained and loves his dog bed (but loves a human bed even more). He's not a barker, and is slowly warming up to the idea of squeaky toys. He’s the perfect work-from-home buddy and is trying really hard to be brave when left alone— but he's just a little lovebug and loves company.<br/><br/>Paco might be tiny, but he’s full of love. If you’re looking for a loving, little cuddle buddy, he's your guy!"<br/><br/>INTERESTED IN ADOPTING?<br/>To adopt Paco, apply on our website www.truenorthrescue.org/adopt and email adopt.truenorthrescue@gmail.com to follow up on your application.<br/><br/>PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL TO ASK IF HE/SHE IS AVAILABLE. IF THIS LISTING IS UP, THE DOG IS NOT ADOPTED YET.<br/><br/>Also, we have a very high volume of applications and we are all volunteers. We cannot respond to every application personally. Please make sure your application gives us a good picture of your family and the life you plan on providing a dog from our rescue. We choose a home based on the BEST FIT for EACH dog and approve on a dog by dog basis. Thank you!

True North Pet Rescue Mission's Adoption Policy
First Step: Submit Your Application True North does not issue blanket approvals, we consider the needs of each specific dog when reviewing applications. If you don't have a specific dog in mind when applying, please note this on your application so that we can keep this in mind when reviewing. We require home photos for all applicants, but can accept a video replacement. Please enter as much detail as possible on your application, this helps us better understand what you are looking for and how this relates to the needs of the dog you have applied for. For puppies under 12 weeks, we require a care plan. This includes a plan for when the dog will be left alone, as puppies younger than 12 weeks should not be left alone longer than 2-3 hours at a time. Please Note: Due to the high volume of applications we receive, it is not always possible to reply to everyone. If your application is approved, you can expect the following. Second Step: Application Review & Approval 1. If your application is approved, an email will be sent connecting you with the dog's current foster. At this time, you may schedule a mutually convenient time to meet. 2. After meeting, you have 24 hours to confirm if you would like to move forward with finalizing the adoption. After this, if we have not heard from you, we will begin scheduling other meets. 3. If you choose to finalize, we will issue an adoption contract via email. Once the signed agreement has been electronically returned along with the adoption fee (which will be disclosed prior to adopting), you will be all set to coordinate for pick-up with the foster! Adoption Fees: Our adoption fees are comparable to those found amongst other well-known rescues in the city. We only accept electronic payments for adoption fees.
