Pace is a very shy but incredibly sweet boy who is just starting to learn that the world can be a safe place. He will need a patient, understanding home that is willing to go slow and celebrate small wins.<br/><br/>He is sensitive to quick movements and new people, dogs, and environments, but he is very food motivated and responds well to gentle handling with plenty of treats. He has been good in his crate and, as he settles in, he is showing a very cuddly and affectionate side. He also loves being carried in a pet sling and will happily hang out in one when you take him places.<br/><br/>Pace is learning to walk on a leash and gaining confidence each day. He does well with his senior foster dog siblings and seeks comfort from them.<br/><br/>Because he startles easily, a home without small children is recommended. Gentle, dog-savvy children who can move slowly and respect his boundaries could be a good fit.<br/><br/>With patience, consistency, and love, Pace has the potential to become a wonderful companion.
