Ozzy's Story

Ozzy was rescued from an abandoned property in the desert, where more than 20 small dogs were found living on their own. He’s about 1 year old and a Chihuahua mix — a small guy with a big heart who’s just starting to discover what it means to be loved.

When he first came to us, Ozzy was unsure of people — but with patience, kindness, and the help of his foster family (and their dogs!), he’s blossoming more every day. He’s learning that people are safe, soft beds are wonderful, and good things happen when you trust.

Ozzy is a sensitive, gentle soul who doesn’t need much to be happy — a cozy home, a few walks. He’s not high-energy and would be perfectly content in a quiet home with an older couple or single person. He’s fine being left alone for reasonable periods, and while he’d enjoy a calm, friendly dog companion, it’s not a requirement for him.

He’s met a few kids and was very sweet and gentle with them, but he’d do best with respectful, calm children who understand how to be gentle too.

He absolutely loves people — strangers included.

Ozzy is working on crate and potty training, walks beautifully on leash, and is otherwise a healthy little guy. He’s finishing his vaccines and will be neutered soon.

Ozzy’s ideal home is calm, loving, and patient — a place where his sweet, mellow personality can truly shine. Whoever adopts this little guy is going to fall in love with his gentle heart.
