OutKast's Story

Meet Outkast!

At just 1.5 years old and 38lbs, Outkast is a Pitbull Terrier mix with a heart full of love, a big goofy smile, and enough personality to brighten anyone’s day. After spending his early life outdoors and fending for himself, he’s finally learning the joys of indoor life — and loving every cozy minute of it!

Outkast is kennel trained, quiet, and an absolute kid magnet. He’s been cat- and chicken-tested and passed with flying colors — completely chill around his furry and feathered friends.

He’s also done amazingly well with his canine foster sisters (all girls!), proving he’s a polite and friendly housemate.

Outkast can be a little shy around men at first, but a little patience, love, and reassurance goes a long way. When he’s feeling unsure, he’ll wrap himself around your ankles for comfort — the sweetest little boost of confidence you could ask for.

And he’s full of personality! He loves to army crawl across the floor, flash his big happy smile, and chat with you in his own hilarious and adorable way. After a “hard day” of being his unemployed, lovable self, he curls up in his dog bed like the true nap champion he is.

Outkast will take a little time to warm up, but once he does, he’ll be your best friend for life — loyal, playful, silly, and full of love.

Interested in meeting Outkast? Friends of Jackson County Animal Shelter Pets's Adoption Policy
At FJCASP, we dedicate a great deal of love, time, and resources to caring for our animals, and our top priority is to see them go to permanent, loving homes with people who have the knowledge and means to provide proper care. Adoption Fee: $80–$150 Vet References Required We require that all potential adopters provide veterinary references. This allows us to confirm that any current or past pets have been kept up to date on vaccinations, preventatives, and are spayed/neutered. Most veterinary offices are familiar with this request. Our goal is to ensure that our animals are placed in homes where they will remain safe, healthy, and properly cared for. Long-Term Commitment Adopting a pet is a serious, long-term commitment. We want all potential adopters to understand their responsibilities and be prepared to care for an animal for its lifetime. Home Requirements To provide a safe environment, we require that adopters provide: - Proper shelter for the animal - Understanding of how to introduce a new pet to children and existing animals -Commitment to keeping the animal as an indoor pet Adoption Approval All adoptions must be finalized and approved by the FJCASP Board. This ensures oversight by experienced individuals who can confirm that all parties understand their responsibilities and that the animal’s welfare is prioritized. Adopter Responsibilities It is part of our adoption agreement that all medical treatments, veterinary costs, preventatives, food, and shelter are the sole responsibility of the adopter. Our goal is to place each animal in a loving, safe, and permanent home, and these guidelines help us ensure that every adoption is successful for both the pet and the adopter.
