OTTO's Story

Meet Otto — 10-Month-Old Bull Terrier Mix Puppy Currently in Foster Care Otto was found as a stray in West Alton on 10/9, an area unfortunately known for frequent dog dumping. Despite his rough start, Otto hasn’t let that slow him down. He’s a happy, wiggly, sweet puppy who just needs the right guidance and an active family to help him thrive. Otto is full of energy and benefits from plenty of physical exercise and mental enrichment. While the shelter environment was a little stressful for him, his personality really shines now that he’s in foster care. His foster family reports that Otto is doing great. He recently went to the park and handled it like a champ, showing how curious he is about the world around him. He enjoys meeting new people and other dogs, and his friendly personality makes him a fun companion for adventures. Like most puppies, Otto can be a bit of a handful at times, but that just comes with his age and enthusiasm for life. The great news is that his potty training is going really well, and he hasn’t had any recent accidents. His foster says he’s truly a joy to have around the house. Otto thought he was pretty spoiled when he was at PAC... but he’s quickly learned that foster homes spoil him just as much! During his food and toy assessment Otto received a couple of B’s, meaning he may eat quickly and could guard high-value items. A structured toy and food routine will help set him up for success, and because he’s still young, he’s very trainable and eager to learn. Otto has also shown that he enjoys the company of other dogs. He did great in his dog-to-dog test with Krueger and has played appropriately with him before. He would likely enjoy a dog friend with a similar fun, energetic play style. Otto’s Ideal Home: • Kids 10 years and older • A fenced yard recommended for safe exercise • An active, engaged family ready to continue his training • A dog friend with similar energy would be a bonus Otto has so much potential and so much love to give. With structure, guidance, and plenty of activity, this goofy, curious pup will blossom into an incredible companion. Interested in meeting Otto? Since he’s in foster care, please contact the shelter to set up a time to meet him.
