Otto's Story
OTTO is ready for his forever home. Fun loving and dog friendly, Otto is approximately 16 months old, microchipped and neutered and fully vetted and on preventatives. He has an active play style and likes the company of other dogs, while he is not a rough and tumble guy he is persistent. He can be called of but will go back for more of a dominant play style with smaller dogs. He is crate trained and generally good in the house, no accidents and let's you know he needs to go out, he is learning kitchen manners. He rides well in a car and wants to bond and loves see what you are up to and if it is something he can participate in. At his foster home, he would play and then settle. Here at the rescue, Otto has had harder time settling and we believe it is because the environment is too stimulating for him. That’s understandable, being around many rescue German Shepherds can be a lot of energy. Otto is going to spend a little time with our wonderful trainer Rick Shilling from Detection Dogs USA LLC help focus his attention, hone his obedience skills and build some confidence with the outside world.

When Otto arrived we learned how truly skinny he was, (one of the thinest dog ever to come into the rescue) under his big fluffy coat. Getting him neutered, caused him to lose his coat which is common, especially in long haired GSDs, so we can't wait to see how magnificent he will look with his restored strong body and thick, luxurious coat. The transformation Otto is under taking to become the big and strong boy, confident boy is so special and exciting to us because he truly has the most beautiful nature and innocent, loving spirit.

We want so much to find him his perfect match and forever home. He has so much love to give and is such a great guy.

Otto has a unique head tilt and a hyper metric gate. We had a neurological work up done on him to make sure he got all the care he needed and our vet told us he was born this way and is in every way perfectly healthy. He is a wonderful boy who will thrive with one to one interaction in a loving home.

Please reach out if you think Otto is your perfect love match!
